Mischa

Every love story starts somewhere. Ours started with a soulful dog named Mischa.

Mischa was more than my first dog. She was my souldog, my teacher, my walking partner, and ultimately, my inspiration for Taka Dog Walk. Together we explored Weehawken and the waterfront long before it looked the way it does now — quiet paths, that special fountain at Port imperial, endless walks up and down River Road.

During those walks, we saw things from some pet care providers and doggy day care centers that I absolutely didn’t want for my Mischa, or any other dog.

I promised her it would be different for us — and for every dog whose life we touched.

Mischa’s legacy is in:

• The way we cap our daycare at four dogs, so no one gets lost in the crowd.
• The way we greet each dog by name, remember their quirks, and celebrate their birthdays.
• The way we choose connection, safety, and joy over speed, volume, and profit.

Even though she’s no longer here physically, Mischa is in every happy tail, every goofy play bow, and every peaceful, tired pup napping after a Taka Dog Walk day.
